Develop and provides strategic leadership for plant operations, ensuring the connection with functions (FSQR, EHS, Supply Chain, Process Technology). Identification of best practices (internally and externally) and implementing them across all plants. Support for all plant managers, promoting team development and developing a talent pipeline to the key positions. Understand key metrics for productivity and support the plants in reaching the business targets. Connect with other areas (commercial, HR, finance, purchasing, IT, etc) to support plant and business needs and initiatives from and to these areas.
Direct accountability for the results of the plant operations, including, but not limited to: safety, personnel, housekeeping, maintenance, service quality and costs in the region. Oversee and make decisions for Model Mill approvals, accident investigation reporting, plant staffing. Acts as key advisor on base capital spending. Ensures government regulation compliance, for FDA, OSHA, EPA, etc. Region consists of multiple plants.
Member of regional leadership team; responsible for the development and deployment of strategies in the plant operations arena. Acts as expert advisor to Plant Managers in processes and programs. Input for new business development and acquisitions/right sizing.
Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or other related field or equivalent commensurate experience
Solid experience in successful plant management operations with multiple locations.
Ability in driving continuous Improvement, green belt certified preferred.
Experience with six sigma, process improvements initiatives
Project management experience
People management experience
Fluent in English and intermediate Spanish
Availability to travel
